Fargo Forum Alternative: John McCain’s Response to Barack Speech in Denver.

McCain’s response

From spokesman Brian Rogers, the truce of McCain’s television ad apparently over 5 min after the speech was given:

“Tonight, Americans witnessed a misleading speech that was so fundamentally at odds with the meager record of Barack Obama. When the temple comes down, the fireworks end, and the words are over, the facts remain: Senator Obama still has no record of bipartisanship, still opposes offshore drilling, still voted to raise taxes on those making just $42,000 per year, and still voted against funds for American troops in harm’s way. The fact remains: Barack Obama is still not ready to be president”

Of course he has to mention McCain. Why even run if he can’t create contrasts with the Republican fiascos of the past eight years?

He doesn’t have to be mean about it, but he has to make a case for change.

8 years ago George W. Bush said “They haven’t led. We will.” It was a crock, of course, but it was a clear contrast message.

It would be political malpractice for Obama to attract 40 million viewers tonight and to waste it with policy prescriptions and thank yous to his supporters. That would be incredibly lame.

HAWKISH NOTES. He made this week’s best, most trenchant criticism of the Iraq war, saying we should “never ever go to war without enough troops to win the war, secure the peace, and earn the respect the world.” The criticism reflects a hawkish attitude: We need more troops. It invokes the opinion of the world but also with a hawkish tinge: The world should respect us, because when we confront an enemy we do it right.

Baracks Speech was great democratic red meat. Im sure he spoke to the hearts and minds of hillarys people. By the way did anyone hear Chris matthews of msnbc? He basically endorsed barack obama on air. Whats up w that? Anyone who thinks NBC is unbiased is smoking large amounts of crack.
Lets see what the Goverment Channel has to say at FOX News tonight. Looks like a successful Speech and will prove to be a strong force of change.
